Dimitris Maramis is an Athens-based composer and pianist. He studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the UK. He has composed four large scale works of musical theatre: the contemporary musicals “Erotokritos” and “The Hauntings” (commissioned by the National Opera of Greece and the Megaron of Music of Athens) the contemporary folk opera Kapetan Michalis based on the same title fiction by Nikos Kazantzakis and the opera Eleftherios Venizelos which was commissioned by the Cultural Centre of Heraklion.
